How to Make a Hand Shadow Deer

Hand Position Reference

Instructions

  1. Pair the front fingers: Bring the two front fingers together so the deer silhouette stays narrow.
  2. Turn the hand sideways: Angle the hand so the joined fingers read as a long muzzle and face.
  3. Keep the top edge clean: Use the remaining fingers to suggest the top of the head and a hint of antler or ear detail.
  4. Add an eye if you want: Drop the ring finger slightly toward the middle finger to create a visible eye.
  5. Make it sniff: Pulse the front of the shape gently for a small sniffing motion.

This same one-handed silhouette can also read as a llama.
