This policy covers the Shadow Pals website at shadowpals.com, including the public pages, site search, and waitlist signup forms on this site. It does not describe a separate in-app account system because the website does not currently run one.
What this website collects
Analytics data
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. That can include page views, browser and device information, referral sources, approximate location, and similar usage data. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers for this purpose.
Waitlist signup data
If you join the waitlist, your email address is sent directly to Buttondown, the email service that handles Shadow Pals waitlist subscriptions and launch updates.
Browser-stored preferences
This site stores a small amount of information in your browser, such as theme preference and certain tutorial display preferences, so those settings persist between visits.
Embedded YouTube players
Some Explore pages embed YouTube videos from independent creators. Shadow Pals uses privacy-enhanced YouTube embeds on the website, but Google or YouTube may still receive technical information such as your IP address and may set cookies or similar technologies when you interact with the player or watch a video.
Search terms and URLs
If you use site search or filter pages such as Explore, your search terms or filters may appear in the page URL and therefore in your browser history or analytics page paths.

- You can avoid submitting the waitlist form.
- You can unsubscribe from waitlist emails at any time through the unsubscribe link in those emails.
- You can block or clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings.
- You can clear saved on-device preferences by clearing site data in your browser.
Retention
Waitlist subscription data stays with Buttondown until you unsubscribe or the data is deleted under their processes. Browser-stored preferences remain on your device until you clear them. Analytics retention follows the settings configured in the analytics provider.
Children and family use
Shadow Pals content is often family-friendly, but waitlist and contact actions should be handled by a parent, guardian, or other adult where appropriate.
