How to Make a Hand Shadow Peace Sign

Hand Position Reference

Instructions

  1. Start from a loose fist: Curl the ring finger and pinky in first so the base shape stays compact.
  2. Raise the V fingers: Lift the index and middle fingers straight up together.
  3. Open a narrow gap: Separate those two fingers just enough to read as a peace sign without making the hand look strained.
  4. Lay the thumb across the base: Rest the thumb softly over the curled fingers instead of sticking it out to the side.
  5. Square the hand to the light: A straight-on palm view gives the cleanest split between the two raised fingers.

Make it read clearly

  • If the V looks uneven, lengthen the middle finger and relax the index.
  • Keep the curled fingers hidden behind the front pair as much as possible.
  • Small wrist tilts can quickly collapse the split, so adjust the hand slowly.

App practice focus

The Shadow Pals app treats peace as a beginner finger-separation figure. Start by making the V tall, then widen the split only as much as the shadow needs.
